Mark Seabrook Antiques has dated this piece to the 16th Century.
...many of these were destroyed by Cromwell in the civil war) .....it dates to around C1400-50 or could be possibly earlier....it has very nice quality carving of oak leaves in each corner and open tracery gothic windows in the form of early flowers ....I love the way you can see the original scribe marks on the front and the reverse...see pics.....very good natural colour.
