FAQs

Granite tethering blocks and heavy stone weights were utilised in agricultural settings for securing livestock, anchoring equipment, and mooring carts prior to modern mechanisation.

These items were hand-chiselled from local geological granite deposits, featuring an embedded hand-forged iron ring or eyebolt secured with molten lead or wedges for maximum tensile strength.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural weathering, tool marks from hand-chiselling, genuine lichen growth, and heavy oxidisation on the iron rings consistent with centuries of outdoor exposure.

It functions effectively as a structural garden focal point, a rustic doorstop, or a sculptural plinth within minimalist landscape architecture.

Granite requires minimal maintenance; cleaning should be restricted to gentle water rinsing to preserve beneficial patina and biological growth such as moss and lichen.
