FAQs

Edwardian boardroom tables date from the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), a period characterised by lighter, more graceful furniture designs compared to the heavy Victorian style, often featuring neoclassical influences and fine timbers.

These tables were traditionally constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, frequently accented with satinwood stringing, brass fittings, and inset leather or hide writing surfaces.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-correct joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional French polish finishes, and construction hallmarks consistent with early 20th-century cabinet making techniques.

Pairing a large antique table with contemporary ergonomic chairs creates a striking juxtaposition, balancing historic character with modern functionality in an office or dining space.

Preserve the timber with microcrystalline wax and maintain the leather inset by applying specialised leather cream periodically, keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations.
