18th century brocade work of this type was produced in several centres around Europe, but the liklihood is that this piece is French. Composed of four panels which have been joined, the design is an elegant repeating floral pattern drawn in wonderful subtle shades of eau de nil, green and gold. The silk and metal thread glimmer under light. The overall impression is subtle and charming and very luxuriant. In good condition, professionally cleaned and ready to be used. Lined.
