Description

Here are a right pair! Two Staffordshire pottery Humidors / Tobacco Jars in the shape of characterful Toby Jugs - the lids to each pot being the gentlemen's fine wide-brimmed hats!

I think the figure on the right is a slightly older pot, but they have been keeping each other company for many years!

As with all folk of a certain age, these two are showing their significant years with gentle surface wear, some paint losses to their shoes and in the case of the chap on the right, a crack and chip on the inside of the rim, and a historical painted touch up to a chip on his hat. Both display really well.

I've included plenty of photographs so that you can see them both in detail, and of course please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can help in any way.

They're a really great mischievous looking pair, who can't help but put a smile on your face!

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
