This Georgian baby feeder or pap boat takes the form of a small porcelain vessel finished with a white glaze and a blue transfer print of floral foliage decoration. A delicate gilt rim outlines the open section, complemented by gold edging along the curved body, an extended spout at the front, and a decorative loop handle at the back supported by two leaves that act as a stand. The base holds a stamped mark resembling T21, and the entire piece remains in nice condition. Measuring 3 1/4 inches in length, this miniature antique fits comfortably on a bookshelf display within an English Country House interior. Collectors can place it among other historic ceramic curiosities or cabinet displays, adding a touch of traditional craftsmanship to a decorative study shelf or living room shelving unit.

A pap boat is a shallow vessel featuring a spout, historically used during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to feed soft food, panada, or medicine to infants and invalids.

Georgian pap boats were predominantly crafted from soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain, lead-glazed earthenware, silver, or pewter, frequently decorated with hand-painted or transfer-printed cobalt blue patterns.

Authentic Georgian examples typically display characteristics such as visible glaze wear near the spout, soft firing imperfections, unglazed base rims, and hand-applied gilt or underglaze blue decoration.

Small historical items such as pap boats are suited for display inside glazed cabinet shelves, arranged alongside vintage literature on a bookshelf, or integrated into a curated vignette of blue and white ceramics.

Clean ceramic feeding vessels using lukewarm water and mild soap with a non-abrasive cloth, avoiding immersion if gilding is present, and keeping clear of harsh chemical solvents.
