This unusual collection of three antique Victorian porcelain fairings comprises three decorative objects dating from 1880. Each piece is crafted from white porcelain with a glossy glaze, finished with hand-painted multicoloured figures in domestic bed scenes, gilded borders, and inscribed text on the rectangular bases. The trio displays distinct decorative details including brown-topped headboards, blue bedcovers, and moulded feet highlighted in gold. Each fairing measures 8 cm high, 9.5 cm wide, and 5.5 cm deep. These compact decorative objects sit well on a bookshelf or mantelpiece in a traditional interior, adding period character to a collection of Victorian ceramics. They are displayed simply as tabletop ornaments, bringing nineteenth-century narrative charm to living spaces or studies.

Porcelain fairings are small ceramic novelty trinkets or figurines manufactured primarily in Germany during the 19th century to be awarded as prizes at country fairs and carnivals.

These items were typically moulded from soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain, hand-painted with colourful glazes, and finished with gilded accents over rectangular scripted bases.

Authentic pieces frequently feature impressed four-digit numerical codes on the underside, unglazed base undersides, and hand-scripted captions painted onto the front face of the pedestal.

Display these small sculptures together inside a glass cloche, arranged along a bookshelf, or placed alongside traditional bedside accessories to introduce historical narrative to a room.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth or dry soft-bristled brush, avoiding water immersion, liquid solvents, and abrasive cleaners that can damage overglaze pigments and gilding.
