This Victorian beaker consists of Doulton Lambeth stoneware paired with a sterling silver rim hallmarked for London 1881 by Richards and Brown. The exterior displays a brown, muted green and blue glaze over a cylindrical form with a tapered base. Decoration includes applied raised beadwork, scroll motifs, and an incised floral pattern featuring rosettes, alongside Gothic arches and roundels. A capital letter "F", the date 1881, and the number 7670 appear incised on the base. The stoneware body remains free of chips or cracks, showing standard age-related surface wear. Measuring 14 cm high by 9 cm wide and 9 cm deep, the piece offers a compact profile suitable for display. In a contemporary home, this beaker serves as a decorative display object on a sideboard top or desk shelf. The combination of salt-glazed ceramic texture and polished silver metal brings distinct Victorian and Gothic style to an interior. Placed within a living room, study or dining room, it functions as a standalone decorative accent or a vessel for small dried stems. The earthy green and blue tones integrate easily into traditional or eclectic interior colour schemes, adding historical character and tactile interest to a surface display.

Doulton Lambeth stoneware was produced in London during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, gaining high acclaim during the Victorian art pottery movement for its handcrafted decorative techniques and salt-glazed finishes.

These vessels were constructed from high-fired salt-glazed stoneware ceramics and fitted with hallmarked sterling silver collar rims around the top border to protect the edge and add decorative refinement.

Authentic examples typically feature impressed factory backstamps, production year dates, artist monograms on the stoneware base, and official silver hallmarks on the metal rim.

These decorative ceramic pieces are frequently styled inside glass display cabinets, arranged on bookshelf shelves, or grouped along a sideboard top as historical accents.

Clean the ceramic body gently using warm water and mild soap, while using a specialized silver polishing cloth on the metallic rim to avoid chemical damage to the glaze.
