A fine quality scalloped form walnut centre table with marquetry boarder set within an ebony ground. Each inlaid vignette and centre depicts a different flower. Radiating figured veneers with excellent figuring. The central column has three slightly concave faces again with still life marquetry panels. Bold carved cabriole legs. Super honey colour throughout with a fine deep patination. This table has clearly been prized throughout its life and is in lovely condition. Edward Holmes Baldock was, primarily a dealer in fine antiques specialising in French. He also produced designs for pieces and had them made to exacting standards. Although his name is associated with finely inlaid early 19th century furniture , some branded with EHB it is not known whether these were designed by him or merely sold by him, his many clients being great collectors of the period.
