Description

A wonderful pair Regency tea tables made from Goncalo Alves (otherwise known as tiger wood), each on single tapering pedestals to a quatrefoil base with four curved feet disguising concealed brass castors.

The quality and timber is typical of top cabinetmakers such as Gillows and these must be seen to be fully appreciated. The exotic Goncalo Alves timber is mesmerising to look at.

These tables have been sourced from one of the Isle of Man’s most prestigious and important country houses, Kentraugh House.

Kentraugh House is a beautiful early nineteenth century house of fine Georgian architecture with exquisite classical colonnaded portico. It is a property of great architectural and historical interest.

A fine pair of tables in beautiful condition, sensitively cleaned and waxed. Photographs do not do these tables justice.
