Description

Lambs were one of the most prominent cabinet makers in Manchester from mid 1800s to the early 1900s. They were sympathetic to the Arts and Crafts movement and this side table has a little hint of that. It has the Lambs stamp as can be seen in one of the pictures but also has written in the drawer 'Grace Andrew 1861'. This could be when it was bought by someone although we would have been inclined to suggest a little later would be a bit more accurate. However the legs are turned in a rounded design which would indicate the possibility of being slightly earlier so that could be accurate. It sits on ther original brass cup castors and has the original turned wooden handles. This table could make a pretty dressing table of course or maybe a small desk. So much flexibility, in tidy condition with great provence and some intrigue, this small piece of history has so much appeal and at a really reasonable price too.
