Late C18th George III Period Mahogany D-end Dining Table of Highly Versatile Format.

Description

Late C18th George III period mahogany d-end dining table of highly versatile format.

Comprising a pair of demi-lune or semicircular tables and a drop-leaf gate-legged centre section. All raised on elegant tapering square section legs . The edges of friezes and legs with box-wood strung detail.

Fitted with brass patent-style fixings or fittings, allowing the table to be clipped securely together. Can be used in a wide variety of configurations, the d-ends separately as console tables , or together as a circular table , or all fixed as a substantial dining table . The central section being also able to be used as a separate gateleg-action dining table .

The whole table having achieved a wonderful consistent mellow colour and patina, with a desirable honey-coloured hue to the figured Cuban mahogany .

One section with a characterful historic stain from a decanter or spirit bottle . In excellent original condition with only minor marks and stains to the polished surface.

Has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops ready to use .
