Large 19th Century French Walnut Drapers Table

Description

A fabulous, large 19th century French walnut drapers table. Having an edged and moulded two plank top above a frieze containing four drawers with brass drop handles. Panelled sides and back. The lower shelf is joined by six well turned, tapering bobbin legs and feet.

Excellent colour and patination.

The French drapers table was a common feature in the cloth merchant's shops in days gone by. The tops of these tables have a large surface area perfect for the unfurling and cutting of cloth and drawers to the frieze to provide space for the cutting tools.
