Victorian Mahogany 8ft Wind-out Extending Kitchen Dining Table (Joseph Fitter)

A Victorian period, mahogany extending kitchen dining table, Circa 1870, almost 8 feet in length. This well proportioned table, constructed in solid mahogany, rectangular top, with rounded corners and reeded edge. Plain frieze, raised on well proportioned ring turned fluted legs, on brass and ceramic castors. The top extends by way of winding screw mechanism (Joseph Fitter, Patent), with original handle, by two additional leaves.

A highly functional table, full of character with age and use related marks and blemishes. In good working condition, restored, cleaned and waxed and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This table measures approximately 75.5 cm (29.75") tall, 240 cm (94.5") long extended, 159 cm (63.75") long unextended, and 122 cm (48") wide. The two additional leaves measure 49.5 cm (19.5") and 31.5 cm (12.5").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in good working condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. Some age and use related marks and blemishes mostly on the top. A few extinct historic worm holes, namely to the secondary ash timbers in the telescopic stretchers, which do not affect the sturdiness of the table in any way, and by way of precaution have all been treated. Recently restored. The mechanism and castors all work well. Cleaned and waxed, ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

Returns

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied. Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original delivery charges are non-refundable. Responsibility for the item remains with the buyer until it has been safely received back.
