Victorian Chippendale Revival Mahogany 8ft Wind Out Extending Dining Table

A Victorian period, mahogany extending dining table, Circa 1890, in Chippendale revival taste. This large table at almost 8 feet long (7 feet, 10 inches), constructed in solid mahogany, with well figured mahogany rectangular top, with rounded corners and gadrooned edge. Plain frieze, raised on well proportioned carved cabriole legs on ball and claw feet, on brass castors. The top extends by way of "Joseph Fitter Patent", winding screw mechanism, with original handle, by two additional leaves.

This table is structurally sound and quite useable but does have some flaws, see condition report.

Dimensions:

This table measures approximately 74 cm (29") tall, 239 cm (94") long extended, and 114.5 cm (45") wide. The leaves measure 45.5 cm (18") and 49.5 cm (19.5") wide.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in fair condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. The leaves in the top are warpped, as is one end. One leaf and one end have natural aged partial splits in the timbers. There is knott showing through the polish in one leaf. Other odd marks and scratches throughout. The telescopic bearer stretchers and straight and sound but do stick a little when being wound. The mechanism is straight and works well. The castors are good. This a lovely table, and can be used as is, but would benefit from some TLC. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.

Returns

A 30-day return period is offered for peace of mind. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied. Return transport costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original delivery charges are non-refundable. Responsibility for the item remains with the buyer until it has been safely received back.
