Description

A really wonderful 19th century refectory dining table in solid fruitwood. It consists of a four-plank overhanging top on a continuous frieze with a single cutlery drawer, all supported by square-section gently tapering legs. With three people along each side and one at each end it can accommodate eight in total - possibly more if there were children. The distance from the underside of the frieze to the floor is 605mm (23¾”) giving plenty of clearance to tuck your legs under when sitting on a standard-height dining chair. Of sturdy construction, this stunning table, c.1850, has a beautiful honey colour and a rich glowing patination.
