George 2nd Mahogany Birdcage Tripod Table

Description

Good mid 18th century George 2nd Cuban mahogany birdcage tripod table. Lovely design early tripod base with "gun barrel" stem and shaped cabriole legs with pointed spade feet. The birdcage is all original and very plain being that little bit earlier. Original brass catch. The top is nicely grained mahogany in two pieces which has faded over the years into a lovely mellow colour. There are no breaks or repairs to the legs or feet. The under side of the top and bearers have been polished in Edwardian times. Basically just a nice early example of this very popular type of tripod table.
