Description

High quality early Victorian SOLID fiddle back mahogany adjustable reading table. This really is a superb piece of furniture, it just oozes quality. The table is adjustable in height up and down on a very well made ratchet system and the whole top section can slide fully to one side so it can be used without the base getting in the way. Originally they were used in conjunction with a bed for serving food on or reading. The top of the table has two fully adjustable slopes with holes for a stop on each one. The base is a nice shape with hollow turned feet and original insert castors. The top is SOLID fiddle back mahogany, the base and column are veneered in fiddle back mahogany. All the inside ratchet system is all solid mahogany.

The piece is in very good original condition except for the missings stops to the adjustable slopes which could be made if required. The whole piece is a gorgeous mellow colour with original finish.

SIZE; 36" wide by 18" deep by 29" high before adjustment.
