Table Rare Refectory Farmhouse Welsh Elm George III C1780

18th century
Description

Here we have a most wonderful rare Welsh Elm farmhouse refectory dining table c1780. As you can see the table has outstanding colour and patina. Firstly there is only one thing wrong with this table and that is that it will not fit in my kitchen. The table is everything as a dealer I want to buy and have in our stock. There are three beautiful thick Elm planks to the top. The table has been in a Welsh farmhouse forever and the plank construction is typical of North Wales. There are six pegs in a circular group holding the tenon in place. There are two drawers with original turned handles. The drawer has lovely naive scribe decoration to the edges. The legs also of pegged construction have similar decoration to the outside edge and this is replicated on the end stretchers. There has never been a central stretcher to this table and the table is ok to sit at the ends as there is enough over hang. The table will comfortably seat 8 and is in ready to use retail condition. The dimensions are approx 200 cm long 90 cm deep 78 cm high.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
