Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Quimper faience is a traditional tin-glazed earthenware manufactured near Quimper in Brittany, France, originating in the late seventeenth century. It is characterized by hand-painted motifs, including botanical foliage, borders, and regional French figures.

Faience salt cellars are crafted from earthenware clay, molded into shape, and dipped in an opaque white tin glaze. Decorators hand-paint motifs using mineral ceramic oxides before firing the vessel in a kiln.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-painted factory signatures on the base or rim, such as HB representing Grande Maison Henriot. Genuine examples display minor variations in brushwork, hand-inscribed lettering, and natural glaze crazing.

A double salt cellar serves as an accent piece on a dining table or kitchen sideboard. It can also function as an occasional catchall dish on a dressing table or desk for small jewellery items.

Clean hand-painted faience using lukewarm water and a mild detergent with a non-abrasive soft cloth. Avoid dishwashers and prolonged immersion in water to protect the glaze and clay body.
