A good original georgian "birdcage" mahogany tripod table c1770.(georgian)

It measures 72cms diameter and is 69cms high.

A one piece top ,it is called a"birdcage" table because of wooden structure beneath the top which is designed to swivel and tip the table whilst keeping it stable. It also enables the table to be easily moved in 2 pieces.

The colour is rich and has a good patina which can only be created by hundreds of years of waxing.

We have left historic marks on the table as we dont want to strip the top and lose its rich patina .

Good tripod tables blend seamlessly into antique or contemporary interiors.
