Rectangular ormolu-mounted mahogany console table of restrained and sophisticated form .

The frieze with a full-length drawer fitted with cast ormolu knob pulls and with a decorative ‘blind’ double-headed imperial eagle escutcheon plate .
Retains the original thick figured carrara marble slab top .

The base having a platform raised on turned feet to the front edge . The rear with flat pilaster type upright supports and square-section rear feet .
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina. The marble top with some historic marks and stains , and minor chips and ‘fritting’ to edges , commensurate with age , use and purpose.
A decorative and practical hall or console table of compact proportions and scale .
