An Unusual Scottish George III Mahogany Writing Table, of Small Proportions, Probably Made in Edinburgh

Description

The rectangular top with moulded edge above a pair of pull-out candle slides with brass handles, raised on square tapering legs. The elegant and restrained aesthetic typical of Edinburgh cabinet-making during the last quarter of the 18th century and of furniture made by firms such as Young and Trotter for the city's Georgian New Town.

Original untouched condition and structurally sound, slides a little stiff.
