In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The top of the table can be kept flat or tilted to the desired angle using the release catch on the underneath. It can then be fastened in place using the small brass knob. It comes with a removable mahogany stand that slots into the bottom of the table that allows for music or books to be rested at an angle.
It is an excellent quality piece with a moulded edge around the table top and beautiful redded detail on the legs. It is in very good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. All the parts move well and the mahogany has a wonderful rich patina. There are some minor signs of age and use, some surface marks and small knocks around the base but nothing detrimental.
The table top measures approximately 21 3/4" (55cm) wide x 17" (43cm). At its lowest height with a flat top the table is 32" (81cm) high which extends up to approximately 42" (107cm).
