Georgian Mahogany Card Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: James Reeve (Quinneys of Warwick)

A George II Period Mahogany Card Table Having a lovely shaped fold-over top. The baized interior playing surface has money wells and candle stands.

There us a concealed full width oak lined frieze drawer which is a lovely and unusual feature of this table.

It is raised on elegant turned cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.

It is constructed from very fine quality early mahogany and has the original wax finish with a wonderful rich deep patina. The baize has been recently replaced and therefore most attractive. The addition of money wells and candle stands is also a lovely feature.

This card table from the mid 18th century would make a particularly nice games table in a games room, but also would work well just used as side, or console, type table.

Circa 1740.

The measurements shown are the maximum. The back of the table is 76cm wide.

The depth of the middle of the table is 37.5cm
