A very rare early 17th Century Oak Credence Table of wonderful colour, in remarkably original condition, even retaining the original hinges. Having arched panels above shaped stretchers with fold over top supported by wooden hinged gate. The legs with gun barrel turning, the top rails and drawer rebated and decorated with scratch moulding. there are pegs through the legs either side of the drawer, usually this would indicate a rail was fitted, however the drawer on inspection seems almost certainly original. We believe the craftsman originally had a change of plan and cut away the rail replacing it with a drawer.
The underneath surface is dry and clean just as we like to see, it is an honest piece of early english Oak Furniture.
