An Unusual Victorian Burr Walnut And Boxwood Tripod Wine Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Chequers Antiques

A fine and unusual early Victorian wine table in burr walnut and boxwood, the richly burred circular top with moulded edge and circular line inlay, over a finely turned neoclassical boxwood tripod with a slender baluster above a pedestal crisply carved with swags over a collar of stylised leaves, on outswept legs terminating with stiffly carved leaf and Greek keys.

English circa 1850.

Condition: Excellent, the table is solid and robust with no undue wobbling, the timber is fantastic with a wonderful colour and patina and the carving to the tripod is really crisp and sharp.
