Late Georgian Satinwood Bijouterie Table

A very unusual and decorative late Georgian satinwood bijouterie table. The table features three drawers with the top one being velvet lined and its contents being visible through the glass table top. The table is beautifully and simply inlaid with harebell swags and garlands, boxwood lines and the use of contrasting mahogany. The velvet lining in the display drawer appears to be the original and does have some staining in keeping with the age of the piece. The table has a great original colour and patina and the overall condition is very good with the odd minor knock and blemish. The glass top is also the original with the typical undulation of Georgian glass and the odd air bubble. The whole has a great period look and even retains a working key. The handles are all original except one which is a later matched replacement. The construction is in some ways fairly simple indicating a provincial manufacture. A great decorative, usable, period piece with a huge amount of country house style. C.1830.
