An early 17th century oak side table. English c1700
Gun barrel turned legs. The base is joined by mortise and tenons with pegs/dowels to secure. Each side has a simple shaped bottom edge. The front face has applied carved brackets with punch work decoration and are original. Lovely colour and patination, the top being a little paler. Side stretchers are around a 200 year old later addition, but have given this almost 400 year old table added stability and no doubt help its survival.
