Early C19th William IV period figured mahogany console table of bold design.

Stylish mahogany console or serving table raised on exuberant scrolled forelegs with stylised acanthus leaf carving to the knee and scroll feet , having panelled flat pilaster supports to the rear .

The bow-fronted break-front outline top fitted with 2 asymmetric frieze drawers with a shaped central vacant cartouche , the whole with ‘cockbeaded’ reserves and mouldings .

Superb quality throughout with a finely selected grade of figured mahogany which has achieved a rich colour and patina.

One minor historic triangular patch repair to rear right hand side edge of top .

A statement table being of practical proportions and scale with wonderful decorative presence taking it’s inspiration from the designs of classical Greek and Roman antiquity .
