Whytock and Reid Serving Table

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900. A large Ash side or serving table by Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh, with Sir Robert Lorimer influences. The solid top, with rounded corner, simple moulded fore-edge, over 2 large frieze drawers, with raised facings and cast brass swan neck handles with elaborate back plates. The drawers are stamped’ Whytock and Reid, Edinburgh’. Beneath the drawers is a simple shaped frieze and the whole piece is supported on four elegant cabriole legs finishing with a Lorimer style shaped pad foot.
