George IV Mahogany Writing Table

19th century
Description

Circa 1830. A good George IV Mahogany writing desk. The solid mahogany top with lovely figuring, simple fore-edge and rounded corners. The front with one long and 2smaller frieze with fine cock-beadings and cast brass drop handles with elegant back plates. Beneath the centre drawer there are beaded quarter blocks. The whole piece supported on four elegant turned tapering legs, finishing on a tall turned toe.
