French Victorian Yew and Rosewood Fold-over Games Table.

Description

Circa 1870. A rare shaped French Yew wood card table. The shaped top in mirror matched yew with broad rosewood cross banding, hinges and opens to reveal a similar interior, over a shaped frieze with foliate carving to the front, with gilding to recessed areas. Standing on four elegant cabriole legs topped by C-scroll carvings, reeded and finishing on a simple foot.
