Description

Stunning GILLOWS of LANCASTER goncalo alves two drawer library table in completely original and un-touched condition. Almost identical to the one illustrated in the Gillows book page 292. Although not stamped as much of Gillows furniture wasn't there is absolutely no doubt this is from the Gillows workshops.

The timber used is of the highest quality throughout which is backed up by the tables weight. The table has two full length mahogany lined drawers both in the same side. The feet are a documented Gillows design and known to have been carved by Master Carver James Rigby. The feet all have there original highest quality inset casters which are as smooth running today as the day the table was made.

The graining of the Goncalo Alves veneers is just superb and the table has mellowed over the years to an outstanding colour and just with one wax has come up like glass.

Without any question the best Gillows Library table we have ever handled
