Description

A French cherry wood coffee table with a fold over top which allows it to be either a convenient standard size or expended for entertaining. 19th century or earlier of typical French pegged construction the top folds over on brass hinges and rotates on a blacksmith made iron lug. The timber is of an excellent faded natural colour with evidence of old worm all of which has been thoroughly treated. Almost all antique country French furniture has evidence of worm.. if it didn't we would be suspicious ! This table is solid and strong with a full width drawer. Some old repairs as to be expected. An extremely versatile piece can be London flat or country house size.
