Description:
This is a fine quality and unusual English Art Deco figured walnut rectangular box table, ideal for use a bedside or coffee table, circa 1930 – 1940, in excellent original condition. The box table boasts a stunning figured walnut moulded hinged top, which opens and is secured by its original brass stay, to reveal a useful storage box, lined in sycamore. The table is raised on four walnuts turned legs, with turned steel threaded fixings, which can be easily unscrewed for storage and transport purposes. The table displays solid craftsmanship. This piece boasts classic Art Deco styling in the overall design of the curved front, clean lines and the choice of materials.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality and unusual English Art Deco figured walnut rectangular box table, ideal for use a bedside or coffee table, circa 1930 – 1940, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the top, leading edges and sides, but nothing significant considering the age of them. There are no missing veneers. The table has been cleaned and polished in our workshop. The legs are sturdy and are free from any breaks. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
