A good Victorian mahogany adjustable reading or invalid table bearing the trade label of John Carter, Literary Machine Maker of 6A New Cavendish St. Portland Place, London. The adjustable rectangular shaped top having 2 hinged book supports and easily slides from side to side to sit over a bed or chair, the angle is also adjustable. The turned base having fluted decoration and applied turnings with height adjustment facility and 4 lead weighted legs to prevent tipping and is easily moved on the original casters.
