George IV Gillows Centre Table in Burr Walnut and Goncalo Alves

Description

A good George IV Gillows centre table in burr walnut and goncalo alves of desireable size; the circular top in bookmatched burr walnut having a kingwood crossbanding and a goncalo alves crossgrain thumbnail moulding; above a shallow inset frieze. Raised on the goncalo alves turned baluster column with a finely carved acanthus leaf collar; on three very shapely cabriole legs, with 'c' scroll carved mouldings, and terminating in Gillow pattern cabochan and acanthus scrolled feet, with original concealed brass castors.

English circa 1830

Very good condition with lovely naturally faded warm colour
