Elegant French Kingwood & Ormolu Table with Rouge Marble Top

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a very attractive French oval occassional table with elegant proportions dating from around 1900. The stunning Kingwood veneer has a delightful grain and rich colour and the table has a fabulous figured marble top. Kingwood, Dalbergia cearensis, is a rare rosewood with violet / purple and light black streaks. From the Atlantic forest in Brazil, Kingwood has been the wood of Kings for hundreds of years in France England and throughout Europe. The table has solid ormolu mounts around the frieze and pretty cabriole legs with ormolu mounts to the neat feet. It has a lower tier which is quarto veneered and attractively shaped.

A very pretty and practical side table, this would be very useful in many situations as it has such neat proportions measuring 72 cms high, 55 cms wide and 35 cms deep. The lower tier measures 43 cms by 25 cms.

You are most welcome to collect or use any courier for delivery. Our local courier can deliver to most UK destinations for £55 plus vat. Some areas and extremities may vary.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
