A Large High-quality Circular Mahogany Tilt-top Dining Table

1900 - 1920
Description

A stunning early-20th century large circular mahogany tilt-top dining table supported on a central column and four splayed legs. The tables large diameter 160cm (63 inches) will easily accommodate eight people, six with full table settings.

The superb craftsmanship is evident from the highly polished solid top which is beautifully finished in finest mahogany with two wide mahogany borders laid transversely, each edged with satinwood around the entire circumference. Hinged on a traditional central column, of the quality and much like tables from 100 years earlier, with brass clips and heavy screws. The table is supported on four splayed and reeded sabre legs, ending with brass lion paw feet and retaining their original brass castors.

A beautiful well-made table that stands up to close scrutiny. Highly recommended.
