A George III Mahogany Card Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Chequers Antiques

An early George III mahogany envelope card table, the plain top opening to reveal a baize lined inner with a narrow border, supported by a concertina action rear leg, over a short frieze and on square supports. English circa 1765.

Condition: Overall very good, the table has good colour and patina. There is a slight lifting of the top in the left hand corner but this is not significant. The baize is old but has no holes and is perfectly usable. The table is solid and robust, and it opens to form a square measuring 36” square.
