Early 19th Century Mahogany Reading Table

Description

Fine early 19th century solid mahogany adjustable reading table attributed to GILLOWS of LANCASTER. High quality piece made from the best of mahogany. Turned and reeded column with 4 scroll shaped legs with moulded tops and turned patera to the bottoms. The top under framework is all solid mahogany. The top has a lovely grain pattern with thumb moulded edge and original lift out book stop. The table top adjusts in angle via a wooden ratchet type system beneath.

The table is in very good condition apart from a small old shake to the top on one side and the top has been sympathetically re-polished.
