Fine Brass-inlaid Rosewood Regency Card Table

Description

An eye-catching and excellent quality early 19th century Regency period brass-inlaid rosewood CARD TABLE in lovely condition.

The well-figured top is inlaid with profuse brass scrollwork and opens to reveal the baize-lined interior, with a central brass-inlaid tablet to the front of the frieze (a feature much used by Gillows) and similar brass-inlaid panels to the leading corners. It is supported on a turned central column, leading to a ‘gadrooned’ collar and four brass-inlaid sabre legs which terminate in ornate cast brass castors. 36ins wide; 18ins deep; 29ins high.
