A Louis XVI Mahogany Console Table

18th century
Description

A Louis XVI mahogany console déserte or console table, the white marble top with a three quarter brass gallery over a single drawer with brass handles, central lock escutcheon and brass banding, brass banded panels to the sides and a brass moulded edge below, on fluted column supports with brass capitals and bases to a lower shelf and on tapering feet with brass caps and toes. French circa 1790.

Condition: Excellent, the table is solid with no movement, there is a small, old crack in one corner of the marble top, the brass is all in good order, and the timber has a good colour.
