M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The vase-shaped pillars with facetted bodies and applied open-work decorative supports above a carved block with cartouche details .

The shaped figured walnut shallow frieze with rococo style ‘C’ scroll carved detail and corners , the depth allowing for ample seating and leg-room and with the absence of a joining central stretcher to accommodate a chair or for foot-space .

The top with a simple ‘thumb-moulded’ edge to the ‘quarter-veneered’ and ‘book-matched’ burr and figured walnut rectangular panel .
In excellent original condition, the top having achieved a mellow , faded honey-coloured patina and with the original surface and polish .
