A William IV Mahogany Writing Table

19th century
Description

A free standing 2 drawer writing table in Cuban mahogany. Two drawers facing, two dummy drawers to the opposite side. Raised on twin pillar, tapering, cylindrical supports. The base has an applied collar of carved stylised petals. C scroll feet terminating. The drawers pull out with concealed hand holds to the underside. A super flame grain of one piece for the writing surface. It is unusual to find a writing table with a mahogany surface of this age that has not been refinished. Lovely colour and patination. C 1830
