Spectacular Shapland & Petter Chinese Chippendale Antique Writing Desk

This Spectacular Late 19th century Victorian Chinese Chippendale Design Antique Writing Desk ca. 1890 is stamped by the renowned makers Shapland & Petter. It has a small raised back with blind fretwork carvings above a tooled leather writing insert and has three drawers with rococo design decorative brass handles. This fine antique desk stands on raised square moulded legs with corner fretwork and carved square pad feet. It has aged to a rich Mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
