Description

C18th Italian carved roccoco console table with giltwood and cream painted decoration, of large scale with a good height and of very fluid design; the later C19th 'Bleu Turquin' marble top with a moulded edge and serpentine shape with protruding round corners; on a giltwood moulding above the shaped pierced apron carved with 'c' scrolls, shellwork foliage and flowers; the concave sides echoing the carved decoration. Raised on exaggerated shaped cabriole legs headed with carved 'c' scroll cartouche and flower heads, having large 'c' scrolls to the sides, terminating with acanthus carved scroll feet. The legs united by 's' scroll stretchers centred with a large carved rocaille foliate scroll.
