Below this can be found a deep apron with fine boxwood string inlay. The legs to the rear open using a ‘gate leg’ action to fully support the opened top. The piece then becomes the ideal tea table / games table / small dining table with a delightfully figured mahogany surface. The antique table stands on tapering legs and has aged to a warm medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
