George 3rd Scottish Mahogany Tea Table

18th century
Description

Late 18th century George 3rd Scottish, solid mahogany tea table. The table has nicely moulded square legs which is typical of Scottish 18th century furniture of the period. The table base has a tulipwood cross banding around the base and has a pen and ink decorated oval marquetry panel inlay to the front. The tops are good timber with a nice grain pattern and have a rounded edge. The table has its original gate to the back but has had a later metal hinge applied for extra strength. The table is a nice colour with original patination and waxed finish.
